Carex Day-Light Sky Light Therapy Lamp

On receiving the Daylight Sky lamp, do we need to open the lamp cover to remove the elastic bands and and or packaging material from INSIDE the lamp? Or is that not necessary, unless changing bulbs. My light works out of the box and not sure if there is additional packing material that has to be removed before using it?

This is not required once receiving your lamp unless changing the bulb.

Is there a On/Off Switch? It seems to only have a switch for Therapy/Task, but as long as it is plugged in, there is no way to turn it off?

The switch should be placed in the middle to be turned off.

How should my sight line be when using the Sky light. Can I look down and read or do I need to look to the side or directly at the light so that the light enters my retinas directly?

Great question! Yes, you should be looking down with the light over you. Your eyes should be approximately in the center of the light with the lamp screen tilted at roughly 15 degrees, so it is projected over you during each session. I am wanting to store my light back in its box for winter but can’t figure out how to, does the stem come off it

The Day-Light Sky can be taken apart to be put back in its box as it was shipped. You can find the instruction manual here. This should give you an idea of how to take it apart. If you continue having trouble, feel free to reach out to our customer service team here. 

I have the old Carex daylight with fluorescent bulbs which I replaced this year. I am worried about the safety of these bulbs and would like some information . I am considering just replacing it.

Thanks for reaching out! What questions did you have specifically? Our fluorescent bulbs are consider safe. However, we do not offer them any more and switched to LEDs as they are less prone to breaking, more energy efficient, and last much longer.

I have the “Daylight” Sky Sun Simulator Lamp. I am wondering what type of-(if any)-Rays that it emits? I am concerned in particular about UVA rays that cause Skin damage and Aging. Also if they use UVC rays. The only type of Sunlight I think it doesn’t use is UVB, burning light.

Hey Jilla, Great question! We totally understand being concerned bout UV rays as they can be harmful. But rest assured, our lamp feature a built-in filter that blocks out 100% of UV rays that the light emits. The light emitted from the lamp is filtered out from UVs and will not damage your skin.

Does this lamp currently (as in models you are selling now) house LED lamps (or standard/fluorescent) and are there replacement lamps? i realize LED can last a long time, but at some point they would need to be replaced. Thank you.

Hey Heather, thanks for reaching out! All our models use LEDs. Unfortunately, we do not offer replacement LEDs because of their longevity and the fact that replacing them is much more complex than fluorescent. However, all of our Day-Light brand lamps are covered by a five year warranty in the event the LEDs fail.

Can you please tell me what the replacement bulb is and where I can get it? I bought my lamp in 2017 Thank you

Unfortunately we have switched to LEDs because of their safety and effectivness and no longer offer replacement bulbs.

which mode? theres no booklet to download from ur website. there 2 options on your button which one does what besides the off one in the middle?

Great question! The Sky's two settings include therapy and task mode. Therapy mode emits 10,000 LUX lighting to emit the needed intensity to trigger biological effects. In task mode, the lamp emits a dimmer 5,000 LUX for task or ambient lighting. We recommend using therapy mode for your 30 minute therapy sessions and task mode for the rest of the day.
